The Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova (DIH of Moldova) is a project created in December 2021 by the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), together with a group of regional, national, and international IT companies. It follows the model of the European Digital Innovation Hub from Romania, facilitating connections between startups, investors, providing access to funding for digital transformation. Simultaneously, it serves as a platform connecting companies in the region with professionals, future specialists, suppliers, and users.

EDIH of Moldova and FusionX EDIH, a European Digital Innovation Hub from Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed on 16 September 2026 a document establishing a framework for cooperation in digital transformation, innovation and advanced technologies.

The partnership aims to create new opportunities for cooperation between the digital innovation ecosystems of the Republic of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a focus on technological resilience, applied research, knowledge transfer and the development of innovative solutions for businesses and the public sector.

An important area of cooperation will be the testing and validation of emerging technologies. The two EDIHs intend to facilitate access for SMEs, startups and public institutions to complementary infrastructure and expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, High-Performance Computing (HPC), cybersecurity, IoT and UAV/drone technologies.

The cooperation will also cover the development of pilot projects and applied research initiatives, enabling companies, startups and research institutions from the two ecosystems to test and validate solutions in real-world conditions. Identified areas include smart industry applications, monitoring and sensing solutions, drone-based technologies and other emerging digital technologies.

Another objective is to develop skills in advanced technology areas. EDIH of Moldova and FusionX EDIH will be able to jointly organise training programmes, workshops, webinars, hackathons and knowledge-exchange sessions, involving experts and organisations from both countries.

The partnership also creates opportunities for identifying and developing joint projects under international funding programmes. The two hubs will explore opportunities to build consortia bringing together SMEs, startups, research institutions and other actors from the European innovation ecosystem.

Through this cooperation, the two hubs aim to connect complementary expertise and infrastructure and create new opportunities for technology testing, pilot projects, applied research and cross-border cooperation. For EDIH of Moldova, the partnership opens new connections within the European advanced technology ecosystem and strengthens opportunities for cooperation with organisations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.

FusionX EDIH is a European Digital Innovation Hub from Bosnia and Herzegovina, with expertise in artificial intelligence, HPC, cybersecurity, digital skills and Test Before Invest. The hub has a sectoral focus on industry digitalisation, energy and environment, healthcare, public sector innovation, defence-related technologies and advanced engineering solutions.

In turn, EDIH of Moldova, the first and currently the only European Digital Innovation Hub in the Republic of Moldova, coordinated by ACETI, provides integrated services for the digital transformation of SMEs, mid-caps and public institutions, facilitating their access to expertise, technologies and innovation infrastructure.
