About Us

The Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI) represents a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit civic association formed by the free will expression of associated individuals. Its purpose is to promote the development of innovation in engineering and digital technologies in the Republic of Moldova, particularly in the northern region.

Before the establishment of this association, several events were organized at the initiative of a group of volunteers passionate about IT

On May 18, 2019, the Professional Orientation Forum in IT was organized at the Alecu Russo Balti State University. The event brought together over 230 participants interested in this field. It’s worth mentioning that the invitation to organize the forum was positively accepted by representatives from the business environment in the IT sector (CodeFactory – Sponsor, Draexlmaier, ATehno, ULS, AMSoft, MeraxSoft, Endava, Amazon, VR Club – participants); academic and scientific-teaching staff (USARB, Polytechnic College, Railway Technical College), computer science teachers from high schools in the northern region of the Republic of Moldova, students, and pupils from pre-university educational institutions; journalists (TVR Moldova, TVN, BTV, SP Newspapers, and Ziarul Nostru), IT professionals (ADR Nord). After the success of the forum, it was noted that such events are necessary and useful for maintaining relationships between the university, pre-university institutions, business companies, and associations in the IT field.

Another activity of the same group of IT enthusiasts was organized on June 20, 2019, when over 20 entrepreneurs, representatives of 10 (ten) IT companies in Bălți, in the presence of Ms. Valentina Stadnic, Acting Director of Moldova IT Park, gathered for a roundtable discussion to establish a wide range of benefits that the IT industry can bring to the country. During the meeting, all participants from the IT business environment in Bălți were directly informed about the activities of the IT Park in Moldova.

This meeting of representatives of IT companies in Bălți has become a communication platform where IT experts and enthusiasts can obtain useful information about the current directions of development in the IT field in Bălți.

As a result of these main events, representatives from the IT business environment proposed to associate for the development of this important sector of the economy. Thus, ACETI was created based on representatives from 4 IT companies in Bălți with the goal of jointly organizing and planning future activities to increase the number of IT specialists in Bălți city and the entire Northern region of the Republic of Moldova, starting from primary school children, middle school students, high school students, to professionals. In this way, ACETI aims to increase the number of students in IT specialties at the Alecu Russo Balti State University, promote IT companies in Bălți city, and collaborate with national associations in this field to achieve these goals.

In this way, ACETI organized the following events in the fall of 2019:

  1. Thematic training sessions in the field of engineering and innovative technologies under the name IT@Weekend Morning – 7 training sessions on Saturdays or Sundays in October-November 2019. Over 200 participants from approximately 15 institutions attended these training sessions alongside IT professionals from various fields.
  2. The meeting of computer science teachers from the Northern region with the theme ‘IT Ambassadors in the North’ – on November 27, 2019. Approximately 200 participants attended the forum: representatives from the IT business environment; teachers and scientists from general, technical, and higher education institutions in the Northern region of the Republic of Moldova; journalists, IT experts.

We are grateful to all those who contributed to the organization of the aforementioned events. During this period, the number of ACETI members has grown from 7 to 11, and from 4 partner IT companies to 8 (5 IT companies from Bălți, one from Chișinău, and 2 from the northern region of the Republic of Moldova outside Bălți). ACETI has signed several cooperation agreements with the Employers’ Association in the Manufacturing Industry, colleges, vocational school, and the Alecu Russo Balti State University.

We express our special gratitude to the administration of the Alecu Russo Balti State University – a trusted partner in organizing the association’s activities. An excellent example could be the organization of 2 IT @ Weekend Morning activities at the State University ‘Alecu Russo’ in Bălți. Following this brief collaboration, a cooperation agreement was signed between the association and the university.
