The Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova (DIH of Moldova) is a project created in December 2021 by the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), together with a group of regional, national, and international IT companies. It follows the model of the European Digital Innovation Hub from Romania, facilitating connections between startups, investors, providing access to funding for digital transformation. Simultaneously, it serves as a platform connecting companies in the region with professionals, future specialists, suppliers, and users.

On Friday, October 31, the “Kick-Off Meeting” of the xDIH – Cross Border Digital Innovation Hub program took place at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (TUIASI). This European cross-border project brings together the expertise and resources of Romania and the Republic of Moldova to strengthen digital competencies and foster innovation across the region.

The initiative is implemented in partnership by TUIASI, ACETI – the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova), the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), and Digital Innovation Zone, with financial support from the Interreg NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova Program.

The program aims to support digital skills development and cross-border collaboration through modern learning infrastructures, innovative curricula, and shared expertise between partner institutions.

The launch event was held as part of the Conference for the Launch of Romania–Republic of Moldova Cross-Border Projects, in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Simona Caraiman – Vice-Rector for Digitization and Communications at TUIASI and xDIH Project Manager, Mr. Ion Coșer – Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Iași, Daniela Pojar – Vice-Rector of the Technical University of Moldova, and Cristina Baghiu – President of Digital Innovation Zone.

“We are honored to take part in the xDIH project alongside such valuable partners, continuing the mission we set together two years ago,” stated Ion Bodrug, President of ACETI and Coordinator of the Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova.

The xDIH program marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration for a shared digital future, where education, research, and technology serve as bridges of development between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
