DIH of Moldova Consortium Strengthens Regional Collaboration at the Western Balkans Digital Summit 2025 and EDIH Regional Meeting
The Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova (DIH of Moldova) consortium, represented by Mircea Petic, Executive Director of ACETI, participated in the Western Balkans Digital Summit 2025, held in Skopje, North Macedonia. The event coincided with the Second Regional Meeting of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) from the Western Balkans, organized within the #EU4Digital project, providing an extensive platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among digital innovation hubs from the region, the European Union, and the Eastern Partnership countries.
On September 30, at the headquarters of Innofeit EDIH in Skopje, participants gathered for the “Second Regional Workshop for Western Balkans EDIH Structures”, where discussions focused on the development directions of the regional EDIH network, strengthening hub capacities, and exploring cross-border cooperation opportunities. During the sessions, the EDIHs presented their results and lessons learned in the process of international collaboration. The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding among the digital hubs from the Western Balkans — an important step towards jointly providing services to SMEs in the region.
On October 1, in the morning session, DIH of Moldova took part in the “Access to Finances” workshop, dedicated to European instruments and programs supporting digitalization and SME access to finance, presented by representatives of the EBRD, WBIF, and GIZ.
In the afternoon, the events continued within the Western Balkans Digital Summit, where a special session was dedicated to the role of EDIHs in driving digital transformation and increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the Western Balkans.
Throughout these meetings, DIH of Moldova established valuable connections with digital hubs from Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Ukraine, opening new perspectives for regional collaboration and joint projects in innovation and digitalization.
The participation of DIH of Moldova in these events contributed to expanding regional cooperation, strengthening the digital innovation network in Southeast Europe, and identifying new opportunities to accelerate the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Moldova.
It is worth mentioning that the participation of the DIH of Moldova consortium, coordinated by ACETI, in these events was organized with the support of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH), within the project Digital Transformation of SMEs in Eastern Partnership Countries (DT4SME).
