AGEPI Registers Copyright for ACETI’s Instrument for Measuring the Digital Intensity of SMEs (MIDIA)
The Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI) has officially registered with the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) the copyright for the Instrument for Measuring the Digital Intensity of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MIDIA), developed within the framework of the project “Digital Maturity in Innovative Regions”, funded by the Government of Switzerland and Helvetas Moldova through the OPTIM Project.
MIDIA is the first tool of its kind created and adapted for the context of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with national and international experts and inspired by established European models. One of its key objectives is to facilitate interaction between the Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova (initiated by ACETI) and the business community as part of its advisory and technological assistance activities.
Such instruments are widely used in the European Union by European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) to support and advise SMEs in measuring their level of digital maturity and identifying priority areas for technological development.
Designed to assess the digitalization level of small and medium-sized enterprises and to support their digital transformation, the instrument was internationally validated during a study visit to Piatra-Neamț, Romania, organized in partnership with the Digital Innovation Zone, where both the methodological quality and the practical relevance of the tool were confirmed.
The instrument developed by ACETI has already been tested as part of the training program for specialists in measuring digital intensity, organized by ACETI from 29 July to 6 August 2025. These specialists will apply the methodology in collaboration with companies across the country, contributing to the enhancement of national competitiveness through digitalization.
“The registration of copyright with AGEPI confirms the originality and practical value of the instrument. MIDIA can become a national standard for assessing the level of digitalization among SMEs,”
— Ion Bodrug, President of ACETI
The “Digital Maturity in Innovative Regions” project is implemented with the financial support of the Government of Switzerland (Swiss Cooperation in Moldova) and Helvetas Moldova, through the OPTIM Project.
