
ACETI President at the North Regional Forum in Edinet: “Local communities can be engines of digitalization and European integration”
Ion Bodrug, president of the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI) and of the Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova, participated in the Northern Regional Forum “Local Partnerships for European Integration”, held in Edinet on Tuesday, July 22, by CONTACT Center, with the support of Soros Foundation Moldova.
The event brought together about 90 participants from the North of the country – representatives of local authorities, academia, non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs, young people and donors – to discuss the role of local communities in the European integration process.
Serghei Neicovcen, Director of the CONTACT Center, emphasized the importance of involving all local actors in the process of European integration, while Daniela Vidaicu, Director of the Soros Foundation Moldova, underlined the role of communities in transforming this national goal into a common project.
During the first panel, dedicated to the collaboration between municipalities, educational institutions, companies and civil society organizations, the President of ACETI/DIH of Moldova highlighted the importance of digital transformation at local level in the context of Moldova’s European path.
“Digitalization can accelerate the approximation to European values by increasing transparency, efficiency and quality of local public services. Local communities must be supported to adopt innovative solutions that respond to the real needs of citizens,” said Ion Bodrug.
Also, at the forum were presented local ideas and projects that promote European values – transparency, solidarity, care for people.
The forum in Edinet is part of a series of regional events organized by the CONTACT Centre.
