ACETI organized another study visit within the project “Edu – Tech – Agro – Nord – Agricultural Technology Education for the North”. The event took place on October 1st at SRL “Igan-Grup” in Dobrogea Veche, Singerei.

The guests of the activity were students and teachers of the Agricultural Technical College of Soroca, as well as representatives of the business and scientific environment.

The host of the event, “Igan-Grup” company, which processes around 170 hectares of walnut plantations, presented to the guests its innovative line of walnut processing, which allows much faster and qualitative technological processes, from shelling, washing and cleaning of green walnuts to their drying and sorting by size. The processing line has integrated several intelligent solutions, from automatic temperature and humidity regulation in the drying process to the detection and removal of poor quality nuts (such as empty inside).

The participants of the study visit took the opportunity to see first-hand how each of the processes that take place from reception to the finished product are carried out and asked many questions to the hosts.

Ghenadie Bezborododco, deputy director of “Igan-Grup”, also a former student of the Agricultural Technical College of Soroca, emphasized that business needs technological innovations to increase its yield, but even more it needs young specialists, able to correctly implement new technologies on the market.

In his turn, Mircea Petic, Executive Director of ACETI, mentioned the prospects that innovative technology can offer to future college graduates, who will be able to obtain, thanks to these processes, well-paid jobs, becoming good specialists in the field, or even open their own business at home, without having to look for a job abroad.

The project “Edu – Tech – Agro – Nord – Agricultural Technology Education for the North” is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID Moldova) through the Project Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity (RCRA) and is implemented by ACETI in collaboration with development partners.
