About us

The Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova (DIH of Moldova) is a project created in December 2021 by the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), together with a group of regional, national, and international IT companies. It follows the model of the European Digital Innovation Hub from Romania, facilitating connections between startups, investors, providing access to funding for digital transformation. Simultaneously, it serves as a platform connecting companies in the region with professionals, future specialists, suppliers, and users.

The Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI), in partnership with iDomus and Vocational School No. 5 in Bălți, organized the event “IoT Innovation Workshop: testing, expertise, and collaboration for smart industry” on May 19, 2026.

The workshop brought together representatives of the educational sector, industry, and the innovation ecosystem interested in the development of IoT solutions and smart technologies in the Republic of Moldova.

In the opening remarks, Ion Bodrug highlighted the importance of cooperation between the educational sector and industry for the development of digital skills and the support of SMEs’ digital transformation.

During the workshop, Victor Domenti, Development Director at iDomus, presented practical examples of developing and implementing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in the Republic of Moldova. Participants learned how electronic equipment and “Made in Moldova” software solutions are developed, while smart technologies for remote monitoring of gas, water, and electricity consumption, building management systems (BMS), as well as solutions based on LoRaWAN networks and IIoT platforms, including those implemented in the municipality of Bălți, were showcased.

Participants also had the opportunity to discover the activities carried out within the IIoT Pro Center Ungheni, including the development of the automated electronic equipment assembly line and the infrastructure dedicated to testing and prototyping smart industrial solutions.

The event provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration between companies, educational institutions, and technical experts, contributing to the promotion of innovation and the development of smart industry in the Republic of Moldova.

The workshop took place within the ACETI 4 EDIE project, implemented with the support of the Innovate Moldova Programme, funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom.
