ACETI organized a new study visit within the project “Edu – Tech – Agro – Nord – Agricultural Technology Education for the North”. The event took place on January 20th on the experimental fields, but also in the premises of the “Selection” Sector of the National Center for Seed Research and Production (CNCPS).

The beneficiaries of the event were students and teachers from the Center of Excellence in Horticulture and Agricultural Technologies in ȚAUL (CEHTA).

The activity consisted in the practical demonstration of the application of a multispectral drone in monitoring and analyzing the condition of fall cereal crops. The drone flew over an experimental plot cultivated with fall wheat, while taking high resolution pictures in different spectrums to assess the condition of the plants and soil.

The data collected from the field was then uploaded into a special software, resulting in a detailed plot map, and CNCPS researchers explained to the guests how to interpret the results of this work and what measures can be taken to keep the crops healthy in case of any developmental deficiencies.

The aspiring farmers showed keen interest in the technologies presented, asking several clarifying questions to the event hosts during the field session and during the results interpretation session.

The project “Edu – Tech – Agro – Nord – Agricultural Technology Education for the North” is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID Moldova) through the The Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity (RCRA) and is implemented by ACETI, in collaboration with development partners.
