EDIH of Moldova joins 19 EDIHs from 15 countries at EDIH Days – Digital Week Dortmund 2026
EDIH of Moldova, the first and currently the only European Digital Innovation Hub in the Republic of Moldova, participated in EDIH Days, held as part of Digital Week Dortmund 2026. The event brought together 19 European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) from 15 European countries for networking, experience sharing and the development of new forms of cooperation within the European EDIH network.
The event was hosted by EDIH-DO – European Digital Innovation Hub Dortmund, recognized within the EDIH network as a leading European Digital Innovation Hub in 2026 for the excellence demonstrated through its activities.
For EDIH of Moldova, the participation provided an opportunity to present the hub’s services and development priorities, share the experience gained in building Moldova’s digital innovation ecosystem, and identify new opportunities for cooperation with European partners.
The three-day programme combined visits, presentations, workshops and networking sessions. Participants had the opportunity to visit Fraunhofer IML / Technology Centre Dortmund, exploring infrastructure and technologies shaping the future of logistics and industrial transformation. The agenda also included a conference focused on emerging technologies such as Web3, artificial intelligence, blockchain and the Metaverse, as well as several thematic sessions.
A strong emphasis was placed on the practical and interactive nature of the workshops. Rather than relying on formal presentations, EDIH representatives engaged directly in discussions about challenges, lessons learned and solutions already being implemented, as well as concrete opportunities for cooperation. Representatives of EDIH of Moldova had the opportunity to share their own experience and development priorities and to explore ideas for joint initiatives and projects together with European partners.
Following the official EDIH Days programme, an additional cross-border matchmaking session was held with the support of GIZ, focusing on strengthening cooperation among EDIHs from the Western Balkans, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. For EDIH of Moldova, this provided an opportunity to continue the dialogue with regional partners and identify new areas for cooperation.
Participation in Digital Week Dortmund 2026 contributes to strengthening the presence of EDIH of Moldova within the European digital innovation network and to developing relationships with hubs, universities, business support organisations and other stakeholders across the European digital ecosystem.
We thank EDIH-DO – Digital Innovation Hub Dortmund and GIZ for organising the event and for creating an open space for knowledge exchange, networking and the development of new cooperation opportunities.
The participation of EDIH of Moldova was made possible with the support of the “Digital Transformation of SMEs in the Eastern Partnership Countries” (DT4SME) project, implemented by GIZ Moldova. Special thanks to Ms Eugenia Dascalciuc for coordinating and supporting the organisation of EDIH of Moldova’s participation in this event.
We continue to build bridges between the digital ecosystem of the Republic of Moldova and the European EDIH community.
